The post-graduate students of theatre department of Dhaka University staged Nobel Laureate English playwright Harold Pinter’s “The Homecoming” on Wednesday evening at Natmondol auditorium.
‘The Homecoming’ translated by Professor Abdus Salim and directed by Ziaul Haque Titas will be staged every evening at the venue till January 11.

Rajshahi Theatre is holding a weeklong drama festival at Rajshahi Medical College auditorium to celebrate its silver jubilee.
The festival drew local theatre enthusiasts who crave quality shows.
“Visitors queuing up for shows is quite rare in this city,” said Ahsan Kabir Liton, a cultural activist and senior member of Ritwik Film Society. He added that theatre is mostly Dhaka-centric but the audience in Rajshahi are just as keen on performing arts as in the capital.

Paris expatriate classical singer Kakoli Sen Gupta performed in a solo musical soiree at Bengal Shilpalaya at Dhanmondi in the city recently.

The inexplicable nude body of a girl with two heads as it appears in Lala Rukh Selim’s painting ‘Divided 1’ done on brush, ink and pastel was one of the 79 works on display in exhibition ‘Triad’ that ended at Galleri Kaya in Uttara on Decmber 22.

Traditional horse race competition held in Panchagarh

The traditional horse race competition was held at Shaldaga village under Debigonj upazila in Panchagarh on Friday afternoon.
Thousands of people from the adjacent Thakurgaon, Panchagarh and Nilphamari districts came to view the race.

Programme upholds Dhaka’s heritage

A daylong cultural programme titled ‘One mile square’ on preservation of the heritage, archaeological sites and ecological balance of old Dhaka was held at seventeen different locations in the city on December 4.
